PLG attorney Brandon Savran represented a client who purchased a mixed-use building with incomplete occupancy records. While the property had long hosted a day-care on the ground-level and apartments above, the building records did not reflect these uses. The client was under threat from L&I to sprinkler the building and replace walls; the tenants would have been displaced. We took the case to the Board of Building Standards. PLG successfully demonstrated that the uses in the building were safe and long-standing. The day-care and the residential tenants were able to stay, and the client's dispute with L&I was resolved.
